The Era of Grander (son)
Well the news that Tiger fans did not want to hear is spreading across the airwaves. Not only has Granderson been traded to the yankees, but Edwin Jackson has been traded to the Diamondbacks. The winter meetings are in session and Dombrowski is once again trying to rebuild a team.
Tiger fans are surely upset with Granderson being traded but the object of the game is to win. Payrolls are sky high and the Tigers may have come out on top in this. There is no argument that Mr. Dombrowski has made some great moves in his years here.
While the tigers went to the big game in 2006 and were in first place this past season, every deal will not always be a fan favorite. Look at the Tampa Bay Devil Rays a few years back. Although they didn’t win the World Series, they were in it with a team of young gifted players and a low payroll. Tiger fans need to stay Tiger Fans, pack the stadium and support those who wear the Ole English “D” because, in the end, this is our team.
Spring training will have some new faces, and some of our favorites will surely be gone. I will miss Curtis and Polanco too, but I say we give this team the chance to prove themselves.

FIRE SALE !! If you knew these guys were gonna ask for big salaries in a few years why did they sign their contracts to expire around the same time? I think the idea was to build a winning team then and hope for the best thru arbitration and contract negotiations. Lets see….. ‘06 second place and a trip to the World Series, ‘07…dismal season… ‘08 no one even wants to talk about and ‘09 was the year it got away. Why not let Cabrera and Verlander go now to a team where they have a chance of winning the BIG GAME? Maybe getting rid of our minor league top prospects a few years ago was a bad idea after all. Build an empire like New York has and keep it every year not just once every decade or so. See ya Friday!!

You know it’s just too bad we couldn’t send the D-Train (Dontrelle) on the south bound train to anywhere else except Toledo!! Come on Chip, ALWAYS A TIGER! You know that, thru thick and thin. (Not to mention I’m to short to jump up on the bandwagon).
