Lights, Camera, Action!
This spring I auditioned for a movie being shot by Shipwreck Films. The movie is titled “Dutchess of Detroit”. When they started shooting last night, I began my character shoots. I play a rogue detective who’s on the take. Last night’s shoot was at Yates park in Rochester, MI.
It started out as a nice warm night at first, but shooting did not begin until 8pm. We were (in the movie) on the banks of the Rouge River which was, in reality, the Clinton River last night and once shooting began, the temperature dropped and the water of the swirling river was two feet from my shoes as I did my lines. Around midnight we wrapped up that scene which will probably yield only about two minutes of movie time. I cannot give out all the juicy details of the scene but it was exciting and a lot of the movie magic will be added later for enhancement. The best part was watching all the curious people drive by and then stop to see what was going on. We were filming on the banks of the Clinton and the lights were set up on both sides of the river. We were about one hundred yards from the parking area so the shadows of our silhouettes and trees loomed mysteriously in the moonlit sky.
