More about our Wild Bills Show

Upon arriving at Wild Bills, a two story sports bar, Chip and I headed on up to the 2nd floor near the stairs to set up for our play-by-play. We hadn’t realized that the plans were changed due to a pre-booked party. As we were hustled downstairs to a spot near the front entrance we realized our good fortune.

As soon as the patrons walked through the door they had a “what’s going on here” look, as they tried to figure out why a radio sports show was in the house. We we able to heckle everyone right from the start which satisfied our twisted sense of humor.

Seated right in front of us was a party of golfers who had just finished eighteen holes. While it was only about forty degrees outside these guys felt that they had to adhere to the notion that golfers are not supposed to allow weather conditions to have any influence over their game.

The bar was lined up with regulars jockeying for a seat near the big flat screen that hung behind the barmaid Tiffany, who happened to be a Spartan fan. Scott at the bar kept coming over to us and hooting for Michigan and when the Wolverines were not doing so well he would give us a thumbs down from his vantage point at the bar. The crowd seemed to be geared toward the Ann Arbor crowd as there were more Michigan shirts than green and white.

I had predicted the Spartans would prevail on our show Friday and I believe Chip picked Michigan on Winners Row, but being the good sport, I tried not to rub it in (yeah right!).
