Upon arriving at Wild Bills, a two story sports bar, Chip and I headed on up to the 2nd floor near the stairs to set up for our play-by-play. We hadn’t realized that the plans were changed due to a pre-booked party. As we were hustled downstairs to a spot near the front entrance we realized our good fortune. (more…)
I’m hoping everyone has recovered from the MSU victory over the Wolverines. It was the 101st meeting of the two teams and Sports Talk 60 was live at Wild Bills in Utica, MI doing the play by play and having all kinds of fun. It was an exciting game especially since the Spartans have not won at the big house since 1990. We would like to give a big thanks to Bob for having us there. Chip and I gave away a bunch of stuff, made some new friends and hopefully some new listeners. Be good and we’ll see ya Halllllllloweeeeeeen on Sports talk 60.

I promised to post the photo taken of Karen Newman and me, so here it is. For those of you who don’t know Karen, she is “the voice of the Red Wings”, as she sings the national anthem before all of the home games. She is also a down to earth, first class lady.

Following, are a few photos that were taken at the Romulus Pumpkin Festival on September 20th of the Sports Talk “60″ radio show, live and on location.

The comedy show at the Belleville Moose Lodge was awesome. Project 2 had so much fun and the crowd was so gracious that we performed until midnight, it was great. Thanks to Lisa and Kim for everything and also Mr. V.
WINNERS ROW (Chip’s Picks are in BOLD)
Penn State will see Michigan beat the 23 points
Ohio State to beat Michigan State
New England to cover 3 points over Denver
Houston will not cover the 9-1/2 point spread over Detroit but will probably win the game.
Chip and I started our 2008 hockey quest by hitting tonight’s game. There are many perks available to the media, free parking, media access to the players, catered food and press box seating are some of them. Of course you also have to do the reporting, show or column. Last night at the Joe would have to be noted as one of the best outings Sports Talk 60 has taken. I am not trying to knock the Lions or Tigers, but the PR people of the Wings are first rate. Everyone from Lisa , our arena media contact, to the parking lot attendant made our night thoroughly enjoyable .
