WINNERS ROW (Chip’s Picks are in BOLD)
There’s excitement afoot in Romulus, as the movie Miss January, starring Dustin Ingram, Kim Cattrall and Brian Dennehy, was being filmed there this week. The movie is set in a small town in Indiana, but was shot in Southeastern Michigan. The casting director, while looking for extras, didn’t use my agent’s company so that is why I didn’t even get an audition.
What’s funny is there was a small part shot in the barber shop where I get my weekly haircut and a major quantity of sports talk. The production shuttered the downtown area and I couldn’t get into the barber shop. I wasn’t too upset as I got to say hello to Kim Cattrall and it’s a good thing for the City of Romulus.
It’s been fun for the residents to see how a movie location is shot, mostly hurry up and wait, which to me is the challenge of it all. Maybe the next time Hollywood comes to Romulus my agent will be in the loop.
Thanks to everyone who tuned in or came out to the Romulus Pumpkin Festival for our special two hour live show. I’d like to extend a huge thank-you to Brian and Walt from “Sports Notes” (WPON 4pm Saturdays) who also did their show from the festival and let Chip and I join them to bring in a special guest, former NHL and Detroit Red Wing Alumni Lee Norwood. We all enjoyed our time with Lee during the one hour show where we gave away some things and had a great deal of fun. It was awesome to be in front of my hometown residents while doing the show and I’d like to thank all of our sponsors, the festival committee and Romulus’ Mayor Alan R. Lambert. Tomorrow I will include some answers to the questions that we asked Lee Norwood.
Keep listening!

Hello fans,
“Sports talk 60″ will be airing a live broadcast on Saturday September 20th at the Pumpkin Festival in Romulus. It’s gonna be great, being in my hometown, broadcasting the show from the Pumpkin Festival. “Sports Notes” will broadcast live at the Pumpkin Festival from 4-5pm and Sports Talk “60″ will come on at six o’clock until 8pm. We will be located downtown in the parking lot of “Romulus Auto Supply” and “Fluff and Puff” dog grooming. Former Detroit Red Wing Lee Norwood will be making an appearance and signing autographs. As always you can call in to us at the festival and listen via radio station WPON 1460 and on the internet at wpon.com. Come out and visit Chip and me, because we really want to meet some of our listeners this Saturday.
I have an acting part in a Weather Channel program called, “When Weather Changes History”. I play the part of Major Charles Sweeney who flew the B-29 Superfortress that dropped the atomic bomb on Nagasaki. The director of the shoot said everything looks good and they are waiting for an air date. As soon as I find out when it airs I will let you know, because I want you to check it out and tell me what you think.
Hello all,
I’m back from East Lansing, and it’s great to be back home. We put on a great comedy show Thursday night, if I may say so myself. There were about one-hundred fifty people in the audience and they really seemed to warm up to “Project 2″.
I got a chance to talk with some MSU Football captains at the morning team breakfast, about the upcoming game this Saturday. (more…)
