Sports Talk “60″ in the park!
Hey fans, another interesting week. This Wednesday Chip and I covered the Tigers game down at CoPa for Sports Talk 60. As everyone knows, the teams take batting practice before the game and that’s when the fun started. We picked up our media passes, signed in, made our way to the elevator and went to the basement of the stadium. Now remember, this is our first time attempting to get on the field for batting practice, although we are veterans at watching the game from the press box. After signing in once again, we were directed to what we thought was the entrance to the field and we entered. Imagine our surprise at finding ourselves in the Tigers clubhouse. We didn’t slow down as we noticed Nate Robertson to our left. While checking out what proved to be the food area, we caught sight of Granderson, Raeburn, and Joyce; the pitching coach walked right by us and a little further down the hall was Manager Leyland.
It was then that the proverbial ‘man in the suit’ asked us if we needed help and the fun was over. He checked our passes and said, “you entered through the wrong door, but it’s cool”. He directed us to the visitors clubhouse and the field where the Cleveland Indians were taking batting practice. While wondering if we could wheedle a little more time in the clubhouse to look around some more, we decided that we gave it a good run and had better get to batting practice. After signing in once again, we stepped onto the field. It was great, people were taking their seats and trying to determine who was coming onto the field. When Chip and I came onto the field from the clubhouse I wonder how many spectators knew that Sports Talk “60″ was in the park.

You should’ve kissed Nate for me!!!
